I really love taking pictures of pregnant women. There's something magical about a pregnant belly. It's a promise of new life. Of hope. Of joy. Bringing a child into the world offers no greater privilege. And pregnant women really do glow... it's a happy time in a couple's life, and is very seldom captured to be remembered...
Once you've had all your children, you miss that beautiful belly. The little kicks, the hiccups. And all the scars of a pregnancy passed, like the stretch marks and the extra pound or two, are a reminder of the honour you had of bringing new life into the world. It should be treasured... but too often, in our rememberance of "being fat", we forget to savour the honour we've been given.
Beautiful C of course did not have an ounce of fat on her... and would probably put most "not pregnant people" to shame :) They are looking forward to welcoming their daughter into the world... as am I... I get the privilege of taking her first formal photographs! Can't wait! Particularly as she carries good genes... she's going to be pretty :)
35 weeks pregnant... and looking lovely....
